Body Overhaul

Time for weighing in!

I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Yay! But some body parts remain flabby. Time for exercise here. Since it's been only 7 weeks post labour, some exercises are a no-no. Only light exercise for now, mostly walking and doing the house chores. I think carrying El can be counted in (^_^) She's almost 5 kg.

I need to seriously overhaul my diet to achieve a firmer body though. Munching on chocolate and biscuits all day is not helping at all. I've done some inventory of all the choccies and biscies left in the house. Hopefully hubby won't restock these stuff. He loves buying them but only eat one or two pieces and then forget all about it. I end up finishing them. All that's left...I've been (secretly) snacking on them for the past few weeks. And I always thought that I don't have a sweet tooth. Well now I know.

Instead I bought these stuff for snacking:

I always eat breakfast. Before, my breakfast during confinement is usually biscuits and Milo. Now I'm making more of an effort.
Back to my routine of eating oat with soy milk. Yum!
Sometimes wholemeal bread and Milo. Usually it's PBJ sandwich. I like St Dalfour fruit preserves. Quite expensive (about RM10 per jar) but oh so worth it.

I'm encouraging El to wake up more during the day so that she'll sleep more during the night. So obviously lunch making must be a quick affair. Basically lunch consists of some leftover.

Rice was cook this morning. Soup was a left over. Heat it up. Add vegetable. Pour it on rice.

Wahla, lunch is ready!

As I'm fully breastfeeding El, I need to make sure my water intake is enough. To make sure I always fill up this 2 1L bottles. It should be empty by the end of the day.

And that's the small step I'm taking towards a healthier (and leaner) me. Another few weeks and I should be able to do more exercises. I'll be firm in no time. Finger cross.

Note: This post was suppose to published yesterday but something went wrong and blogger won't let me sign in (*_*) And the font is all mixed up!

Note to self: Paint my toe nails. No more big tummy. No more excuse.

Gisele's Fullmoon

This is a belated post. El's fullmoon celebration was 2 weeks ago, on the 11th of June, exactly 30 days after her birth. It was held at hubby's kampung-Papar. Celebrations are mostly carried out in Papar because it is the nearest, much easier for everyone to attend. Much easier for us to handle. Anyway here's the piccies.

Gisele sleeping soundly in her aunty's arm. Cuteness!
With mummy. She slept all day and only woke up at 2 am.
The big brother. Super duper happy that day because there were lots of children and his aunts kept on giving him (junk) food. Tutup mata ja la...
The daddy. Guru disiplin time assembly ni. Haha...actually he's singing karaoke. But I don't know why he's so serious.
The yummy mummies. Who's the shiniest (face) of them all? Haha, I win hands down. Before being mummies we use to tag along with hubbies to moginum session. Those were the days...

The food. The ayam lihing was nowhere near as good as hubby's (^_^)

Lots of relatives and friends came. And as usual it went on well through the night. Including the karaoke...which wasn't really cool at 1 am in the morning. It's a fullmoon celebration peeps-so there would be a newborn in the house and one sleep-deprived mum. That's what happen when moginum is involved, I guess. Luckily the baby slept soundly but the mummy did not.

Domestic Goddess Me

Since I'd decided to take advantage of the 90 days maternity leave, I had a vision of me being the perfect SAHM. The children will be taken care with lots of TLC, my house would be spotless, everyday dinner is a perfect 10 and I will still manage to look oh so effortlessly gorgeous, of course. On some fine sunny days, I'll even manage to go on some shopping trips, just me and the new baby, while hubby is at work and Bono is attending playschool.

Hah. Reality check:
  1. I'm so sleep deprived that at times I snapped at Bono when he throws a tantrum. I even scold El when she still refuse to sleep at 2 am. After that it made me feel like I'm the most awful mother in the world.
  2. Clean the house? The only house chore that I manage to do everyday is the laundry-which mostly consist of CDs. So far, I've only cleaned the washrooms once and maybe sweep the floor on alternate days.
  3. Hubby had extended my soup-only diet for 40 days. So being a rebel, I refuse to cook anything else (except the rice).
  4. Gorgeous? Well if showering twice daily is enough to make one look yummy than I guess I am. Gorgeous, I mean.
But the bright side...my hubby is turning into a superb cook! He's taken over the cooking almost 90% now-10% consist of me cooking the rice. He even cook a wonderful confinement food now.

The yummy ayam lihing. The best I've tried so far, even better than my mum's.

So, I've got less than 6 weeks of leave left. I'm going to try to enjoy every minute of it. El's sleeping pattern is following the Malaysian time already, that is sleeping mostly at night. That means I'm not such a walking zombie anymore, in a much better mood now.

And I'm challenging myself to blog more. Not everyday though, (that would be too ambitious!) maybe every two days? We'll see...
