One of those days...

So much for challenging myself to blog more. Every 2 days? Hah! Fail big time. So, I have another 11 days of leave left. Yikes. I wish I can take a longer leave or maybe become a full time SAHM. But we just cannot afford it. There's the mortgage to pay, students' loan, personal loan, bills and blah blah. Unless I could generate the same amount of income just by staying at home. How? No idea. Last week we try our luck playing lottery. Nope. No such luck.

Have you ever had a day that the moment you wake up it seems that everything insists on going wrong? Today I had one of that day. Woke up at 5 am for El's feeding time. Than prepare Bono for pre-school. By 6 am hubby and Bono are out of the door. So I thought I'll start the laundry and maybe I can start some form of exercise. Didn't happen. When I enter the kitchen, these are the 'things' that I saw on the floor.

Because a certain someone did not put out the garbage last night. Aaaand did not even notice it while boiling water aaand making a cup of coffee. So I spent the first hour of cleaning the floor and taking out the garbage. And almost half the day of cleaning the floor. Again and again. I have no idea where these creature hide. You think you had them all. Turn your back a few minutes, and you'll find one or two crawling on the floor. Do you know that a female house fly (aka filth fly) can lay up to 500 eggs! And the eggs hatch after a day.

Of course you wouldn't know because I'm sure your garbage are thrown everyday. Is it?

And in my quest to kill all the maggot I manage to broke a fridge magnet and broke spray hook thingy. (*=*)

Taking a breather...

Wow, I have about 4 weeks to go! But I'm hoping it will be less than that...my delivery that is. The past few weeks was quite busy and so tiring for me. I was trying to finish PEKA because the marks had to be sent in June and by that time I'll be on maternity leave (yay!). The most challenging part was not in assessing the students' work but the burden lies in collecting the reports from the students! Some can be very pangaras that I had to be in a dictator mode. And that can be very taxing. And then I have some modules that need to be settle so that the guru ganti won't be having any problem taking over my classes. Still tons of stuff to do.

Anyhow, today I'm suppose to be attending this workshop of building EXCEL items which starts at 8.30 am. But I decided to be late for once. I'm planning to go out at 9 am because I don't want to get caught in a traffic jam. You see, before this I'll be on my way at 7 and reach the office before 8. And then I'll be sitting there, tweaking my work, waiting for the others to arrive, and some only shows up at 10! After that they'll be chatting away instead of going straight to work. By mid morning I would have done my part but still need to wait because the rest have not finished theirs. I'll be surfing the net but can't do much because most sites, including blogs, are lock by the jpn. It can be so frustrating!

So that's why today I decided to adopt what-the-h**l attitude (can't you see I'm a little bit influence by avril?). Instead of going early and being resentful to the other team members, I might as well join them. At least I can do my never ending laundry duty while going on the net. But I cannot say that I don't feel a little bit guilty, though.

A new daycare?

Wow, next week is school day already? Can't believe time flies by so quickly...or maybe I'm getting older? The thing that I dread the most going back to work is sending Bono to the daycare again. The centre is beginning to irritate me. There's the small issue with the security guard (minta puji dan bikin panas!). But that's nothing compare to nap time. I believe sleep is very important...as important as eating. Before this I have no problem because the previous caretakers of Bono share this view. Suddenly when Bono was 7 mo ++, they did a rotation and new caretakers are in charged of the babies (the previous one are now in charged of the toddler).

So the new one view were that the child should be left playing as long as they want to - they'll nap when they are ready. What the heck! So most of the time Bono end up with less than an hour of nap time. I tried telling them that Bono need to be settled down in order to fall asleep but the (lazy) caretaker give the reason "kesian, dia masih nangis2 mo main bah, nda sampai hati oh saya kak"...Grrrr...So I'm really thinking of finding a new daycare. The only reason I lasted for a year because it's the only daycare in Kinarut (that I know of). I wouldn't mind sending in KK area but I need a place that are able to take care of him from 6 am. Any later than that, than I'll be late for work! So, that's the problem I'm facing right now.

And tomorrow is work day again. I need to sleep.

A very long hiatus

One would think that being on a veeery long break from work, one would have the time to blog. Apparently that's not the case here.

A list of things that I would have like to blog. (I might post more on it, we'll see):
  1. Bono contracted HFMD (Hands, Foot & Mouth disease). I can not sent him to his nursery for a week. Luckily my mum was able to come and stay with us.
  2. And there was the cow milk allergy. Due to my low supply, I tried supplementing him with the usual baby formula. The effect was immediate that we had to rushed him to the clinic. Boy, I'm definitely going to blog more on this because I was sooo irritated with certain individual who made light of this problem. She said all I have to do was change the brand of formula and when to say that her son have the same problem. When in fact it was milk intolerance. Talk about ignorance.
  3. My low supply. Will blog more on this too.
  4. Bono is 1 year old! Celebrated his birthday at Papar. Got some piccies but don't have the time.
  5. We went for our first holiday as a family! And it was not in Malaysia. Some piccies to upload soon. Hope I can find the time.
  6. And then we spent more than a week at Papar (hub's kampung). No internet. Thankfully I have my supply of books and mags.
  7. I bought my third(!) handphone.
  8. This weekend we are going for a weekend getaway.
That's all for now. I have to transfer some piccies from the camera first.

Yikes!

Finally Aunt Flow is here. I was hoping to be free for a year. Never mind, 10 months is good enough. I hope it doesn't affect my supply though.

On a brighter note, I can start to shop for cloth pad. Yeah! Lets go green, girls!

(errr...after I finish my Susen stock. Another 2-3 months maybe).

My July

Seriously. I'm getting bad at updating my blog. Last time I mentioned that I still have time to surf the net but no time to write a post. This time I truly didn't have time for anything.

There's work. Lots and lots of work. July was the month that we had to attend school on almost every Saturday. Then going home almost 4 pm almost every day (my work start at 6.50 am!). Reports to be submitted. PEKA to be completed. Meetings to attend. Extra classes again.

And then Bono was sick almost every fortnight. Must be from the nursery. It was flu season. And finally I succumbed to it. I got 2 days of mc. But it took me 2 weeks to properly get well. Because I couldn't get a proper rest. Then Bono when on a nursing strike for 3 days. I had to pump all day long and feed him using spoon. I was so glad when he went back for direct feed.

After that my supply went low. Usually I pumped once at school and can get up to 10 auns. But during this period I can only manage 3-4 auns! So I had to pump again at home. Twice. My healing body must be really stressed out. But then again my low supply is stressing me out. I tried drinking the nursing tea, eating oat and eating lots of papaya soup. Not much improvement. But my hubby gently remind me that everything happens for a reason. And my friend lend me a very good book. After two weeks, my supply is back to normal.

So you see. July was not a very good month for me. I'm so glad it's over.

Finally I'm back on the net. I had to spend some time reading everybody's old posts due to long absent. And today is our final day of Saturday school (hopefully). Yeah! Can't wait for Hari Raya. I'll be enjoying my two weeks of holiday...

MIA

I've been away from my own blog for quite some time now. I cannot really pinpoint the reason for this absence. I could say that I'm busy or that I don't have time. But I still managed to visit my friends' blog, celebs' blog, crafters' blog and even do some window shopping on the net almost everyday.

There's a saying-Absence makes the heart grows fonder. How true! Never thought I would say this, but I kind of miss this blogging thing. It's like having a little me-time. A relaxing time. An outlet for all my emotions. That's why I'm blogging on a Monday morning just before class start at 9.20. Haha.

I have tons of pictures of my boys. Later. Another 10 minutes before class.

I need to do some dusting...

both in my blog and in my home. I haven't updated my entry for so long...it's full of cyber cobwebs. In my mind there's so much I need to tell but in reality I don't have the time. And sometimes I much rather catch on my sleep ;) I wish I am one of those people that can function normally on 5 hours of sleep...

And then there's my home...if you ever want to come and visit let me know waaay in advance, like 2 hours maybe? Cause I would need to do a very very quick clean up. My home is a mess! Bono is like an indicator of the level of dustiness of my home. When his eczema starts to flare out, it's time to do some vacuuming, moping, and dusting. Oh, I'm such a lazy mum!

And then there's Bono. He should be starting on solid but I haven't bought bario rice yet. Where's to buy ah? Cannot find at CKS supermarket. I think ordinary rice also can. I must try to feed him his first bubur this week. I wanted avocado as his first solid (any reason to avoid cooking, hehe) but my hubby (being a typical old school guy) insist on rice. Haih! Try harder to find the bario rice then, my dear...

Window treatment

It's Laundry Day. Don't u love a sunny day? Look at my window:

I hang the CDs here cos it's most sunny here-and I don't have a balcony :)
So if you happen to be in the neighbourhood (BH apartments) and you see a window full of CDs, most probably it's my home.

On a lazy saturday...

It's school holiday...yabedabedooo!!! Haha...ingat student ja yang happy cuti ka? I've been surfing the net since 11 am. Found some interesting quizzes on blogthings.

#1
What's Sexy About Your Name

You Are Brainy Sexy

You are sexy because you are smart. People know that there is more to you than meets the eye.
You are alluring and mysterious. While many people are intrigued by you, the feeling isn't mutual.

It takes a lot for someone to turn you on. First and foremost, you're only attracted to someone who's incredibly brilliant.
But you just don't go for brains alone. Physical attractiveness is something you won't compromise on.

You of all people can afford to be picky. You are demanding, but you are also in demand.
And when someone gets you alone, you're truly amazing. Not many people get to see you in action.

#2
What Your Handbag Says About You

You tend to be relaxed throughout the day. You are naturally at peace.

You are a low maintenance person. You can adapt to a variety of situations.

You are open and comfortable with who you are. You don't hide anything.

You are an organized and together person. You are competent and successful.

Your motto is: "Be prepared." You don't like to be surprised by anything.

You are a very creative person. Your life tends to be a whirlwind, but you always seem to pull it together.

You are practical and down to earth. You tend to be a rather reserved and quiet person.

#3
What Kind of Book Are You

You Are Humor

You love to laugh at life, and if possible, get others to laugh along with you.
You believe there's always a humorous side to everything. And your sense of humor ranges from upbeat to very dark.

You are outrageous and very honest. You're often the only one willing to say what everyone else is thinking.
You are witty and verbally talented. You like to play with words and say things in interesting ways.

Enough of them quizzes. Bono demands attention.

Random post

Happy CNY! It was a very long weekends. So super duper liat going to work today. My hubby still enjoying his holiday with Bono today. He got 1 week off from work. I will be staying at my hubby's kampung this week. That means no internet service. Luckily my school have one (the signal is low though :( ).

I'm a little bit confuse with some people who pride themselves as internet savvy but do not bother to do any research on any topic. I'm trying so hard not to judge but I can not think of any reason. My hub would hush me whenever I mentioned this - he always remind me that not everyone likes to read (yeah, he's that kind of person-totally hate gossip). But I'm wondering. Especially when that said person is going on and on about some topic that sungguh la ketara nda logic ni...haiii, I'm carrying the world on my shoulder...hehe..that's why this is called random post. Hanya untuk buang masa...

Yeah, time to go home...Enjoy your day!

Trying to be a better person

We had to work today. A meeting. It's been 3 working saturdays for this month. But I better stop whining about it. That's one of my resolution. Trying to tone down the complaining. I know for sure some people have it worse.

Things that I'm grateful for:
  1. Happy little Bono.
  2. Healthy family.
  3. Wonderful husband.
  4. A roof above our head.
  5. Ability to provide for family.
So no matter how annoying my boss would be, I'll try my best not to complain. Beside my Muslim friend said that orang yang kena umpat akan dapat pahala...

What a day!

Today was crap. My boss must be having pre-menopause (ya, ya, I know it's a mean thing to say). Giving people warning letters for minor minor stuff. Hai, palui palui...she must be thinking that people are following her stupid orders out of respect. Duh! When the truth is that everyone is fearful of your dictatorship. Always going on and on about surat tunjuk sebab lah, surat amaran lah, potong gaji lah...What is that? Leadership is much much more than that. You should be concentrating on the core business of our profession. Come on lah, even though you are the superior, still sama-sama makan gaji mah...stop messing our personal file with your nonsense surats and concentrate more on the bigger picture!

The year of the tiger

(Image captured from google)

Happy New Year everyone! Just came home from hubby's kampung last night. It was a very long stay-from the 23rd December. Yup, spent both Christmas and New Year there. We had to. Both of us (hubby and I) are not feeling confident enough traveling far with a 2 months old baby.

2009 has end. So, what did I accomplish?
  1. I got pregnant and carried a baby in my womb for 9 months. Duh.
  2. Giving birth. Who would have thought I could do it? I'm pretty amaze at myself (hehe). Natural birth with no epidural or gas.
  3. Went through confinement and spent 2 weeks with unwashed hair. Gross.
  4. I'm breastfeeding my baby 100%. No formula after the first 3 days (I had blood transfusion and was feeling so weak).
  5. Been using lampin and cloth diapers on my son since day 1. Now, I'm totally immune to baby's poop. Both the smell and look.
  6. Oh, I had my braces for the whole year. My teeth are almost pretty now.
  7. Financially, no changes. No new debts and no saving either. I sucks at handling money. And for this reason, I don't own credit card. Not a single one.
  8. I learned to do internet shopping. Hahaha.
That's all? I can't seem to recall anything else. My postpartum mind is still mushy.

So, what's my aim for 2010? I have written it down in my planning book (yeah, I have such a book). Some are very typical one, like being a better mom, wife, daughter, person etc, getting fitter and sleeping more, shop smarter and save more, eat healthier, become a domestic goddess etc etc. Some a bit more specific which I won't share with anyone else except hubby...of course I'll blab about it when I succeed. Hehe. Show off.

Is it time?

How does a proper contraction feels like? I thought I was going into labour last monday. I woke up in the wee hour with this burning pain on my upper abdomen. It was cripplingly painful that you just can't even sit down. But nooo, apparently I am not anywhere near labour...cause I'm still here in front of my monitor.

It's been almost 4 days of having some on/off pain at my lower back, sometimes on my upper abs...and that's it. So I'm really hoping it will be soon, very very soon because I'm tired of going to work...and I'm losing weight but baby keeps getting heavier. Yesterday found out baby is currently 3.4kg! Blame that on my hubby - I come from small sized family so it must be his genetic and simply because I want to. Blame someone else. No way I'm going to blame myself.

And how come most people always assume that they have a right to comment on a parent's choice of name? Hey, I'm the one carrying this baby for 40 weeks, dealing with all the pain and sweet moments. So how come I don't have the right to name the little one as I wish? Huh? It's not like I'm choosing Gurangak or something (even I do, what's it got to do with you). Wait for your own baby la...Just save the "apa lah maksud dia tu?".

Something to give me comfort:

It came to me and I said, "OK, this is where I go now." I had diabetes while I was pregnant. I became huge. And I said, "This is what it takes for me to have the baby, and I really want it." Then you don't know if it's going to be healthy; you are completely out of control. So the experience really makes you humble.
( Salma Hayek when asked about her pregnancy)

p/s: that's not my tummy...mine does not look anywhere as beautiful as that.

Home Alone

For the first time since we got married I'm home alone. A8 was sent to Labuan for work. He went early this morning and will be back on Sunday afternoon. So, tonight I'm left with my own company. I spent my afternoon watching SATC the movie because this is the only chance I can watch girly movie without any interruption.

As for meal my, I made this:

Hehehe...I made a beef burger! Just like yang kena jual di gerai burrrger Ramli (except I'm out of baked beans). I know it is not the healthiest food but I tried adding lots of raw onion (yummm...my fave) and some tomatoes on the side.

Anyway that was eaten hours ago...have to think what's for dinner.

Oh yeah, it's hari gaji! Hmmm...how do a girl with money spent their time ya? Hehehe...

Wednesday, 17 June 2009

Dear Diary,...

I'm baaack...I started this blog last year to record the improvement of my teeth. But then I got lazy. To the point that I forgot all about it.

So...what happen? I got pregnant. Yes, I'm pregnant with braces. 23 weeks.

Then I started to surf the net on pregnancy and I found lots of blog including some of my long time friends' (which I haven't been in contact for so long because I just suck at keeping in contact). Their blogs remind me that I need to write my experiences not only as a reminder but also to keep track on whats not to be repeated, to be improved or a totally brilliant idea.

I was sooo addicted to blog hopping. A8 started to membebel everytime he saw me in front of the PC.

"Ko bikin la bah blog ko sendiri. Susah betul meh? Apa, malas? Ko ajar saya la, nanti saya kasi bikin ko....bla bla bla"

So rather than keep hearing bebelan yang sama, I strarted to contemplate a blog on pregnancy...But, wait! I have one already *slap forehead* Had to spent some time looking for my log in name and password...

Hehehe, so here I am. Again.
