The waste-nothing fried rice

The long anticipated school holiday went by so fast, it felt like it was a one week break instead of two. Oh well. Another one coming up somewhere in August. Woohoo!

The third day of starting school, and I am already on mc. My first one for this year, by the way. I cough so much during the night that it is just impossible for me to get a good rest. I would have gone to work anyway, even though it would the third day in a row of insufficient rest. But it seems El is starting to develop the cough and she was a little warm this morning. Taking care of El or taking care of the ungrateful brats? Not hard to choose at all. They are probably having a blast not seeing me today. Besides, I need to rest my vocal cord anyway.

So, what's the deal with the title?

I'm just sharing a recipe that I made up. I'm sure someone must have cooked up this meal before (and probably rolling their eyes up), but I've only just stumble upon it myself. Okay.

The ingredients:
Left over rice from last night dinner (I am a lazy mom -_-)
Seaweed snack (that has gone soggy due to inefficient storage, waste nothing right?)
Onion and garlic
Sweet meat
Virgin Coconut Oil (it makes the rice taste sooooo good...oh and it's healthy!)

Heat up oil and fry according to this order-onion, garlic, sweet meat, sea weed and rice. (Of course you have to wait for a few minutes between the ingredients okay) Mix it up nice and done! And in case you are wondering-No, I did not forget to add salt. The seaweed and the sweet meat provided just enough taste.

Tada!

The left hand side dish is my spicy tomato tuna (from a can!) heated up with some beansprout and tomato. Yeah, with my sore throat and all, I really stop eating spicy food. Well.

Anyhow, the rice went well with El. She even ate the seaweed without complaining. Yeah!
FYI, El and veggie do not mix. Our theory-I had GDM when I was preggie with her. So my meal consists mainly of veggie only. Maybe she got tired of it?

Coffee time on a rainy day! That tin behind my mug of coffee is actually full of  ping pong cream crackers. I may or may not eat more than the 6 at the front. Teehee!

Do not forget to try this fried rice, ya...Waste no food guys.

Test power

Okay. So, I've mention my intention of blogging more often. But I didn't. My bad.

Anyhow, I've (reluctantly) upgraded myself in terms of technology. At last my much abused handphone went kaput. It refuses all my efforts of recharging it. In the end I succumbed to the world of smartphones.

But of course, being my normal stingy self, I just couldn't bring myself to fork thousands of ringgit on the canggih-est gadget. I settled on the new Nokia Lumia 820. This is my fourth hand phone so far. And I have always stuck to the same brand.

And guess what? I'm in love with my Nokia. I'll probably named it.

And this is the first post using my nifty gadget-yes, I'm pathetic like that.  ^__^

Here's to many more mobile posts! *Fingers crossed*

What time is it?

It's holiday! Woohoo!

Just a little update on my monstrous zit:
I took another pic, sans make up, just in case you fail to appreciate its awesomeness.

 Just. Look. At. It.

Like I said, there's absolutely nothing in my stash that can diminish its size. Thank goodness for the internet. And another thanks to the amazing google. A few clicks and I was spending my time reading all these wonderful (and informative!) beauty blogs-remember how said, that my staff room was quiet that day? I stumble upon this review of acne products. I decided to try it.
Wash face. Peel off one patch.
And end up looking like this.
Come closer.

Spent two days wearing it (about 48 hours). And ta-da!
It's much much better, no?

Yes, it's still visible but at least it doesn't look like it's going to leave scar for such a long time. The good thing about this patch is that it prevent itchy fingers from touching it. Thus preventing infection which certainly could worsen the zit.

And in case, you are wondering, I did wear it to work. Some colleagues end up asking about it. Twas okay. Just said some zit, and surprisingly I wasn't as self conscious as before.

Of course I change the patch a few times a day, silly.

Note to self: Must remember to buy a new box for such emergency.

On another note, look at what I wore today.
Nice, isn't it?

Finally, I managed to complete one (!) blouse this year. The first self-made blouse worn to work. Yippee! Hubby was very encouraging, "Inikah baju yang mau satu tahun jahit tu?" ^__^

Another note to self: Sew some more!

Remember Me?

What a long hiatus. To say that life happens will be an insult to other active bloggers. It's like saying that others have no life. So, let's just say that I got sidetracked a bit. For a while.

So, this time of the year is the time that we have been waiting for. A season to be jolly! (unless you're a workaholic; then stop reading and go back to work! ) I have another 3 days to go before the long, long, long holiday. Yabedabeduuu!

My staff room is kind of quiet today. All the English teachers were asked (oh, so nicely) to please, please look after the students since they are sitting for their English Paper today. Even though at this time the students are sitting safely in the exam hall and there's absolutely zero that can be done to help them at this point. Oh well, just saying. Conclusion: majority of the teachers in my staff room are teaching English.

Left alone to do whatever I please today, I took some piccies using my webcam. Just to show you something that's been bugging me for the last few days. Here goes...

 Can you see it?
Just in case you don't notice it, here's a slightly different angle...

The biggest zit, ever!

It's one of those stubborn zit that have no opening. No matter how many times I applied my Dalacin Topical, it just won't improve. My husband says quit obsessing on it already. But how could I not? I salute any women who could do that when they have this kind of zit. Or maybe it's a cyst or something. Whatever you are, please, please go away. I have a wedding to attend this Saturday.

Maybe I should visit Watson after work to buy me some of those acne patch thingy.

Okay, I should really start to work now. I have tons of stuff to submit-reports, strategic plannings, completed files, etc, etc.

I shall start to activate my blog again. There are some posts that I have meant to publish but never had the time to edit. So just to warn you (my trusted readers, ahemm) that I would be publishing long overdue posts for a while.

Reminder to self: start to save money and survey android handphone. Hehehe. Maybe I'll start to blog using this device (?).

Books, books, books!

**I am so sorry, but you'll have to tilt your head to the side to look at the picture. No matter what I do, blogger just won't upload it upright.

So, this picture has been taken since February. I've been meaning to show the books I've read for last year but stuff got in the way. Well, the story of my life.

I was just going to forget about doing this post, but hey reading is an achievement. Even though it is what one of my former lecturer used to say toilet reading material. Yes, he's a snob. Boo for him!

Okay the picture above are books that I have bought. I didn't really like Jodi Picoult's Sing Me Home but it's the one that I read during my hospital stay for El's birth.

But Sophie Kinsella's (writing as Madeline Wickham) are very good. I really like these style much better then her Shopaholic series. Now, fans don't kill me but I felt like throttling Becky. How can a person never learn their lesson, again and again?

The Tennis Party is the best! Someone who seems well off does not necessarily means that they truly can afford it. It's comforting to know. So, no more grass is greener on the other side thought.

Marian Keyes' Angels is a nice read too. The heroine kind of resonate with me. All her life she had strive to do what is right for everyone. Went to college, check. Married the right man at the right time, check. But somehow she ran away with her best friend to the City of Angels. Okay, I'm not going to up and leave anytime soon. But I can somehow relate to her feelings.

The one above are borrowed from my friend who's also an avid reader. And she's very good at choosing them. I love, love, love reading her books. Or maybe because it's free? ^_^

And that reminds me that I have yet to buy book for this year. Off to Times!

It's been a while...

I always complain of not having enough time to blog. And yet, I managed to spend the whole day reading other blogs, internet-window shopping and even read posts in Facebook. Mind boggling. Or maybe I’m just plain lazy. All the bad news of the world perhaps had left me uninspired to share pieces of me-can’t you guess from my uninspiring title? Too much stuff going on left me little room to enjoy the solitary needed in writing. In addition of reading wonderful posts in other blogs left me feeling inadequate as a blogger. Probably lost my mojo.Or maybe I’m just plain lazy. Excuses, excuses.

Okay. Now that I’m done feeling sorry for this blog, here’s to share some stuff that has been keeping me busy in reel world (~_^;).

Sometimes El becomes Bono's plaything. In this instance he insist that she wear a 'hat'. Safety first!

When the time is right, they do play together. Bono kidnap one of my laundry basket and both spent few days having fun with it. Unfortunately the pile of used clothing keep on growing that I had to reclaim the basket.

Anyway, those two piccies are taken from my now dead handphone. Thank goodness for smart card! Nah, I'm not going to bore you with how-I-lost-my-almost-brand-new-handphone tale. Well, maybe in another post. And that remind me to set a Tabung Milo to fund for a new one. Can you really make money online? Anyone? I've just checked my Adsense account and it is still empty. Heee.

Then there's my younger sister's wedding that happen ages ago. (Nah, Putat some teaser for you. The rest will have to wait as your lovely sister is very, very busy.)

As the bride and groom were busy whispering...

We were busy doing these:

Entertaining these kiddos requires teamwork.

When the brother cannot be bothered to sit still anymore, we HAD to take these pics. One with the dad,
And another one with the beautiful mom
^_^ Heeeheee.
A little bit of peace and quiet.
The peace and quiet lasted just for a few moments. Luckily the mass had ended. Picture taking time!

The beautiful sister is behind the camera. But you can just imagine her beauty by looking at her offspring...
My favourite picture! The beautiful one is in the middle. Taken by hubby. I married him because he always managed to make me look pretty. Hahaha!

Okay. Till, next post!
